Welcome

WELCOME to Ashford Church of England Primary School.

On behalf of the staff, children and governors, I would like to thank you for visiting our website and expressing an interest in our school.

We are a two-form entry Voluntary Aided Primary School administered by the London Diocesan Board of Schools and Surrey County Council. Our school has a long history in the community. Having been established in 1817, we recently celebrated our 200th anniversary! We are firmly rooted in our Christian ethos, aiming to celebrate the fullness of God in all of our pupils as we grow together to ‘Believe, Achieve and Succeed’. Our SIAMs inspection, in March 2019, recognised that worship is the heartbeat of our school. Worship and prayer is integral to our daily life at Ashford, and in all that we do, centred in the Bible and the life and teachings of Jesus.

Today we are very proud to have continued the tradition set by our founders. We believe that children learn best within a happy and secure environment where they feel valued and respected, regardless of ability, faith or background. We aim to provide a rich and varied curriculum that meets the needs of all our pupils. We have high expectations and all children are encouraged to have high aspirations.

Although our latest Ofsted inspection in November 2019 graded us as Requires Improvement, the inspection also recognised strengths in the school vision, leadership and safeguarding. Read the full report on our Inspection Reports page.

We have a hard-working, dynamic staff team who are centred on ensuring all children achieve the best they can at Ashford, and are committed to taking the school forward into a bright future, centred around our new vision statement:

Our School Vision Statement

We are a caring Christian community where everyone adopts an “I can” attitude; everyone feels valued, safe and loved by God. We celebrate our God-given individuality, achievements and talents and we aspire, with God’s help, to become the best that we can be. We believe that each one of us has the ability to achieve our highest potential, living and learning in the fullness of God.

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
Philippians 4v13

We know choosing the right school for your child is an important decision. The best way to get a flavour of Ashford CE is to come to see our school in action, and we would be more than happy to show you around.

We look forward to meeting you.
